stupid phone call
2005-12-19, 11:19 a.m.

I'm here. It was a pretty good weekend. Got a lot of house cleaning done. We celebrated Christmas with Eagle's Aunt and Uncle. They got me a beautiful blouse, and they got us a Bunn coffee maker and a new can opener.

We decided to go to the casino for the first time ever together. It was okay. We didn't win any money though. Then I called some of our friends to see if anyone wanted to get together. I left a message for my friend Lori on what I thought was her home number. Turns out it wasn't. Let me explain...

So I left my message on what I thought was laurie's home answering machine because her cell phone voice mail wouldn't let me leave a message. I recall thinking, "I didn't know I had her home number in my cell phone." but I figured I must have forgotten adding it.

A few hours later, my cell phone rings and it's MyEx. She starts screaming at me that I called her home number and left a message and blah blah blah. I was floored. I couldn't believe she was making up such an outrageous lie. So I told her she was full of shit and hung up on her, but she kept calling me back. Finally Eagle took the phone. Eagle let her scream and then MyEx said, I've got a proof. I've got seekingme's voice leaving a message. So Eagle and I both said, "hey play it, this outta be good." And then I heard it. I hear the message I had left for my friend Laurie! Oops! It seems that way back when, I saved MyEx's home number as my friend Laurie's number by mistake. Eagle calmly told MyEx that I did that on mistake it was obvious, you could here me say my friend Laurie's name as well has her girlfriend's name. It was OBVIOUSLY a mistake. But boy did MyEx jump on THAT opportunity.

I was really proud of Eagle. She remained calm, she didn't scream back at her, she didn't get beligerent, she didn't get upset at all. We both decided it was just another desperate attempt by MyEx to get in touch with me.

She could have very easily, either ignored the call, knowing that it was a mistake. Or, she could have called and said, "hey, I think you called my number by mistake..." or something like that. But it's nice to see that she hasn't changed one bit.

Eagle says to me, "was she always that grumpy?" and I thought about it and said, "yeah I guess she was!."

Oh well, the drama is over, but it was stupid. I cannot believe that she is 39 and acts like that still. Of course she had to scream over the phone, "I'm Happy....leave me alone." Hmmmm that's not what she said the last time I talked to her. But you know what they say about people who keep telling you how happy they are!

Oh and the doggie is doing awesome. Everyone loves her. Eagle and I are proud parents!
